Portland Community College’s Graphic Design department sets B at 85% and A at 95% and anything less than a B is essentially failing.
Dejare esto por aquí para torturar al que lo vea
I watched the trailer and literally cried laughing
so MLP is turning into Bratz dolls I guess?
“Our goal is to stay true to who those characters are,” said Meghan McCarthy, the head writer for the movie, adding that the high school setting allowed for new storytelling possibilities.
this is so stupid. HIGHSCHOOL SETTINGS. ARE NOT UNIQUE. THEY DO NOT INVITE NEW FCKING POSSIBILITIES. IT’S JUST THE SAME SHIT. EVERY. OTHER. SHOW DOES.
OH, OH. AND ADDING IN A STEREOTYPICAL MEAN POPULAR GIRL IS, LIKE, SUPER UNIQUE, TOO. NOT LIKE WE TOTALLY DIDN’T NEED THOSE TYPES OF CHARACTERS, RIGHT?
It’s like a brony’s fan fiction AU accidentally got submitted for movie credibility.
SO ONE TIME I LITERALLY WROTE A FANFICTION THAT WENT LIKE THIS
EXCEPT I WAS 12.
ugh no i am so disappointed in everything from the storyline to the character design.
I understand why they made the choices they did from a production/marketing standpoint, i really do, I get it, I work in that industry, but oh my god I am so just. Just disappointed.
I’m thankful that they got rid of the “pony tails.” But then, whyyyyyy did they keep the weird skin colors? Especially since NO ONE ELSE IN THE SHOW appears to have weird skin colors?
The other thing that really disappoints me, is that they decided to stick with the whole “GIRLS WEAR SKIRTS. SKIRRRRRRTS. MUST BE GIRLY. EVERYONE. MUST BE GIRLY.”
It grosses me out. I thought the whole point of MLP:FIM was that everyone was unique in their own way, and you didn’t have to be a classic feminine person to be awesome?
There are not enough tables in my house for me to flip.
For starters, everything said above, especially oxlilliumxo’s comments. Hasbro had so many wonderful opportunities to branch out and appeal more directly to their secondary audience that they repeatedly squandered. And then this. It’s as if they were like ‘Hey all you older fans, it’s great that you liked our show (y’know, the one you built a colossal community around and spent money on related merchandise for?), but we really don’t care, in fact, we really don’t want your money anymore. So yeah, here we go, we’re gonna shit ALL OVER the canon and everything that was good about our show.’
Also, Spike and Rarity’s relationship just got REALLY awkward. Like, dragon & pony? Yeah, okay dragons aren’t even real and nor are self-aware talking ponies so whatever, we can let the inter-species thing slide; but human & dog? rather uncomfortable.
… and I was so looking forward to a pony movie too…
At this rate, Colbert might actually be held accountable in the near future for making transphobic jokes.
Go trigger warn some shit
That’s not transphobic, though. He’s making a point that because the LGBT agenda is “barreling forward at full-speed” that the B and T of LGBT is being left behind. Everyone is focusing on the L and the G that there are people who have no idea what the B and T even stand for. He’s not being transphobic or making a slight meant to make fun of or harm the bi and trans* community. He’s making a point that no one is focusing on them because they’re focusing on the lesbian and gay community.
Mother. Fucking. This.
People really need to realize that EVERYTHING Colbert says while on camera is satire.
Satire: The use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people’s stupidity or vices, particularly in the cotext of a play, novel, fiilm or other works.
He is not making a transphobic joke. He is not honestly saying that bi and trans people do not count/matter/exist. He is making humor in order to shed light on the fact that they are forgotten.
He is doing this to raise fucking awareness that there is more to LGBT than LG. He is raising a big flag that says “Hey, don’t forget about these guys. They count. They matter. Why aren’t you doing anything about them? Why aren’t they discussed?” He is not trying to say “They don’t matter.”
So please stop with the self righteous, self pity, “social justice” comments unless you know what you are talking about.
I do appreciate that Bisexual is matched with bacon. I rather enjoy bacon.
This is why I love the Colbert Show.

Chip glitching. I think I read something in beerinabox’s tag a while ago and I got this idea yeah.
do you guys remember that one post about how men feel entitled to take up so much space and women have to deal with a lot less?
This is actually a documented thing. You always see men on the subway or tube or whatever using both armrests while women sit with their arms hunched together into their laps. That’s why I always make a point to take up at least one if not both armrests of the tube so men can be uncomfortable for once.
^ again, for all the people telling me posting this picture is complaining too much.
In my college classes (and high school too) guys were always stretching, sticking fists and elbows in my face, leaning their heads back over my desk, over my work, spreading their legs out, kicking my bag with their dirty shoes. And let’s not pretend they were in other guys’ space as much as they were in women’s.
It’s so true, this happens to me every day on the train. Same with the walking thing, women will weave out of the way whereas men just walk straight and plow down anything in their path. I always end up playing chicken with men on the sidewalk now, because I refuse to move out of their way.
I love playing chicken with dudes who hog the sidewalk. BODY CHECK! Fucking assholes.
“NOT ALL MEN ARE LIKE THIS!” FUCK OFF.
“AS A MAN, I THINK THAT…” FUCK OFF.
Men always have the same defensive bullshit to spout every time they get called out on their shit. AND IT IS BORING. They remind me of those toys where you pull a string an they have like 5 phrases they can say. Over and over and over.
same here with playing chicken, its hilarious sometimes because they get this flash of realization in their eyes that says ‘holy shit, she’s NOT going to move/??? what do????’ because THEY ARE SO USED TO EVERYONE MOVING FOR THEM
when i was younger my grandpa drew this on a piece of paper,
and he asked me how i, as the red circle, would get around the two people (black circles) if i was walking down the street.
so of course i came back with
moving out of the way for them as i walked.
he asked me if i thought men would do the same and, at the time, i did because i thought it was just common courtesy. but he told me that men would barrel straight through without giving a shit and that i should do the exact same. because i was the one walking and they were the ones in the way. so that’s exactly what i do.
i find this really fascinating because this actually what defines so-called masculine and feminine traits and gestures. the whole limp-wrist thing? that’s someone decreasing the amount of space they take up by not extending their arm fully. same with crossing one’s legs, how it’s considered more masculine to swing your shoulders when you walk creating a wider gait instead of your hips, how someone who holds their elbows tightly into their torso instead of letting them fall more loosely at their sides is considered feminine.
taking up space is not just a frequent habit of males in our culture, its actually how society thinks masculinity is supposed to be expressed.
This is my answer when people say eating disorders are personal problems and have nothing to do with sexism. Women literally socialized to take up as little space as possible all day every day.
oh my goodness I didn’t even
It’s great that so many people are getting charged up about this and opening others’ eyes to persisting sexism in our society. If I were a man I’d totally be 100% conscious of how much space I take up and how much I afford to women, especially after randomstabbing’s response. I’d totally love to read about how I’m a big fat jerk and didn’t even know it. No. That’s bullshit. Few people that truly need to hear this message are actually going to. This is an issue of socialization that affects everyone. No one is born with feminine or masculine identities, they’re learned and formed from our interactions in society. It is society that is at fault not women or men, and especially not random individuals you might judge as female or male at a moment’s glance. Vickiexz and volpesvolpi have wonderful perspectives on this subject and I wish more people, those who identify as feminine and masculine alike, could read them as objective as they are. This is an issue of gender as social identities not of biological sex, yet that is strikingly unclear in the above posts. Why can’t we all just say fuck ‘masculine’ and ‘feminine’ and just be genuinely polite to others? Why not pick up other identites like ‘artist,’ ‘friend,’ ‘free thinker,’ etc. and hold those up as how we define ourselves?
